We are very lucky that we are situated in an area that is full of lots of places of visit and things to see and do. Here are just a few:

The medieval town of Fougères boasts the largest Château in Europe and was once the home of the Kings of Brittany. It's Saturday morning market bustles with people buying and selling all sorts of mouth watering delights and regional crafts. On the outskirts is a forest with a man-made lake and beach area. Great for a stroll. There is a new 10-pin bowling alley and cinema.

Mayenne itself is a pretty town built next to the river and offers a variety of cultural and retail experiences.

Bagnoles de l'Orne - this town is famous for its hydrotherapic baths. It is a beautiful spot with a lake (pedalos for hire) and a casino to enjoy a little flutter. There are small shops and lovely places to indulge oneself in a traditional French meal.

Gorron - local shops, swimming pool, swin golf, tree climbing and kayaking.

The famous 24 Hour Le Mans circuit is just 1hr 30 minutes from La Guesdonniere.

Lassay Les Châteaux - well worth a visit.

La Zoo Bourbansais is a great day out. See the animals in stunning grounds, feed the goats and visit the beautiful chateau. There is a little train to tour the grounds and watch the amazing display of birds of prey. http://www.labourbansais.com/

Mortain - historical town with breathe taking waterfalls.

Les Jardins du Renaudies is an English style garden covering 10 acres. A must for budding gardeners.

Horse riding - located at St. Denis de Gastines.

Normandy landing beaches and war cemeteries of 1944 are only about an hour away.

Granville - picturesque beaches, small shops and cafés.

Rennes - marvel the magnificent architecture, medieval streets, gardens and wonderful boutiques.

Le Mont St. Michel is a walled medieval town in Brittany, only accessible by causeway, with magnificent views.

Pontmain - the marian city - is a village made famous by the apparition of the Virgin Mary to the children. The huge basilica has magnificent stained glass windows, which are awe inspiring for both the believer and the non-believer.

St. Loup du Gast - beautiful village with a Velorail for the family to enjoy.

St. Malo is a walled port city in Brittany with beautiful beaches, boutiques, restaurants and cafés.

Bayeux - houses the famous Bayeux Tapestry.

St. Fraimbault - an international awarding winning floral village. Every year on the 14th August they host an amazing show with displays of old fashioned farming techniques, animals, old fashioned games and local artisans sell their products. A great day out!

Go Karting at the Circuit Beau-Soleil near Laval and another circuit near Mortain. Great fun for all of the family for the next budding Lewis Hamilton.

Fishing - a well stocked carp lake a few minutes away and day tickets are available.
